Wow, what a year 2019 has been!
As we once again approach the holiday season, it seems the perfect time to take a quick look back at the various improvements that took place here at Icariin Health.
A Whole New Look
If you are one of our continuing customers from over the past 10 years, then you may have noticed that when you revisited our store recently, the entire look and feel has been completely refreshed!
We wanted our new store design to be as easy to navigate on mobile phones and tablets, as it is to navigate on desktop computers and laptops. This objective was the fundamental design focus from day one, and we feel that it has been achieved to a very high standard.
In true celebratory style, we launched the new look of our store in May 2019, just in time for our 10th birthday, and it has been warmly welcomed by all of our customers for its clean design and intuitive navigation.
EU 2-Factor Payment Authentication
Throughout the entire duration of 2019, we have been laying the foundations in preparation for the upcoming European Union 'Strong Customer Authentication' (SCA) requirement for improved payment security.
When SCA is fully rolled out across the EU banking sector (which is expected to happen sometime in 2021), many of our customers who's bank is within the EU will be required to authenticate their card payment with their bank, using at least two of the following three factors while checking out with their order:
- Something You Know
- Something You Have
- Something You Are
Sounds complicated, right? Well fear not, because the banks in the EU are all working very hard to make sure that this new payment authentication process is seamless for their customers when making purchases online.
At Icariin Health we are very pleased to say that we now have all the necessary functionality in place and ready to activate when required to do so by the European Union.
Please Note: This upcoming feature is only applicable to customers who purchase using a card from an EU bank, therefore does not apply to those of you who bank elsewhere in the world.
Additional Shipping Countries
We are always monitoring the postal tracking capabilities and online payment accessibility of countries in which we do not currently sell and ship to.
This vital monitoring is key so that we can continue to add new countries to our shipping destinations list, making sure that customers within these countries benefit from the 'end-to-end parcel tracking standards' in which we have in place.
On that note, we are pleased to say that throughout 2019 we added over ten new countries to our shipping destinations list, with the majority of these countries located within the regions of South America and the Caribbean.
New U.S. Warehouse
Our final big change for 2019 was our recent U.S. warehouse upgrade.
We had been using our previous U.S. warehouse (located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania) since 2012, and while we had a great experience with that warehouse, we always had an underlying desire to improve our 'same-day-dispatch' cut-off times.
Our previous Lancaster, Pennsylvania warehouse had a 'same-day-dispatch' cut-off time of 10:00am EST, however, our new warehouse facility in Lakewood, New Jersey has a vastly improved 'same-day-dispatch' cut-off time of 14:00pm EST.
This improvement has been a fantastic step forwards, with our U.S. based customers now enjoying greatly reduced delivery times as a result.
